Miami Dade County Causeways (Cswy)
Causeways are roads built over the Atlantic Ocean to join the Main Land to The Beaches. All causeways run East-West and can be accessed, in Miami-Dade, directly from US1. (US-1 is the equivalent of Biscayne Blvd, north of Flagler St; Brickell Ave, for a short distance, south of Flagler St; and South Dixie Highway, in the south of the County - see also Practical Note in Section 3 for more on US-1). Two causeways can also be accessed directly from I-95. Refer to the following table for specific access locations. In the following table, we also include the towns joined by these causeways as well as the islands they cross or communities they lead to. This table is presented from EAST to WEST and, from NORTH to SOUTH. The Beaches access is to the east and the main land access is to the west.
